Collection of several hundred field and commercial audio recordings, video recordings, books, and scores. Audio recordings include Buddhist chants; Chinese songs; and Kun, Cantonese and Peking opera. Video recordings include Korean heungboga from Korean communities in northeast China; Korean music; shajiabang, bunraku, and other genres; and American rituals used for a course on Music and ritual. An 8 v. score dates from 1609 and was compiled by Lun Yang. One volume, Tai gu yi yin (Remnants of ancient sounds), includes music for qin and is written in jianzipu character notation. Another volume, Boya xin fa (Boya's internal method), is a treatise about the philosophy of music and includes studies for qin. The books include a 10 volume encyclopedia on Chinese culture entitled Shi lin guang ji, published in Japan in 1699.
